NLT “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
NIV “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
KJV “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
About a year ago, I prayed and ask God to reveal to me something in nature that I would come upon- time after time- that would reassure me of the path He was leading me down. I had two friends do this during a pivotal time in their lives, one was shown butterflies and the other, rainbows. Hearing their story and trusting in God’s goodness and faithfulness, I thought I would try it and see what He showed me. Soon after, I was driving down the road one day and felt it was laid on my heart to text a friend “Good luck at your golf tournament.” Yes, I was texting and driving, and yes, that is not good. Please forgive me. As soon as I hit send, an eagle flew across the road directly in front of my car and the song Fear is a Liar began to play. I was in tears!! Since that day, eagles have confirmed this path so many times. The verse Isaiah 40:31, as shown above, has also played a huge role in that as well. One evening, I felt a nudge to go out and watch the sunset. My front porch has the best view during the sunset so I grabbed my glass of wine and sat and gazed upon the beautiful sky. To my surprise, the setting sun shining on the clouds made what looked like a huge eagle with its wings spread across the sky. It was breathtaking, and with that I decided to dig deeper into that verse. As you see, in the three different versions that one word is used 3 different ways. Trust, Hope, and Wait. He is asking me to trust Him, place my hope in Him, and to wait on Him.
I hope to share with you all later what it is He is having me wait on. Ultimately Him, but it is something specific He has called me to do and it will be a year in June since He first laid it on my heart to do so. I would like to ask you all to be praying for me and this situation; His will be done. Somedays it is hard, I want to take matters in to my own hands, or I begin to doubt. Yet, He is quick to steer me back on track once I place my eyes back on Him and not on my circumstances or other people.
During this time of waiting in my life, He is strengthening me. Psalm 27:14 has also played a huge role during this season of my life, as it will, I am sure, in the future. “Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” – as I wait, He strengthens my heart. I am expectantly waiting, full of hope, & trusting Him.
